Enterprise Rent-A-Car's Story

Founded 1957, Enterprise Rent-A-Car has developed into an internationally recognised brand with more than 6,000 corporately owned neighbourhood and airport locations in the United States, Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Germany, France and Spain and a growing franchisee network throughout Europe.

Commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

Diversity is a central goal in all areas of our business, and our commitment extends to every employee, customer and business partner. We strive to celebrate the many differences that make us unique as they help make our business a successful one. It’s our aim to create a culturally aware workforce and a culturally competent organisation that mirrors the makeup of the communities we serve. We also want to ensure we’re able to support local businesses and larger companies owned and operated by a diverse range of people. For these reasons, we’ve forged relationships with key organisations that help us continue to develop our approach to diversity. Through relationships with organisations like GLEN, we’re able to meet and share best practice with like-minded companies and individuals, all of whom recognise the importance of being inclusive of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender stakeholders.

Vision for the Future

Enterprise reaches out to people of all backgrounds – in serving existing customers and winning new ones, in developing our current employees and attracting new talent, and in identifying and employing a diverse range of service providers. Simply put, we want to nurture a business environment that is responsive to all.

Leslee O'Loughlin, Group Human Resource Manager, Enterprise Rent-A-Car

"For Enterprise Rent-A-Car, partnering with Glen as a Diversity Champion gives us access to invaluable resources and expertise - helping us to build a truly inclusive and supportive working environment for all and allowing everyone to thrive regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity".

Enterprise Rent-A-Car on Recruitment

We were honoured to be chosen winner of the diversity recruitment award in the 2013 GradIreland student-driven awards. It reflects our constant efforts to be open to all. We partner and have strong relationships with a range of diversity organisations and media to make sure we’re casting our recruitment net wide. Many of us volunteer to act as mentors to students, and we’re always looking at ways to make our recruitment process even more transparent, whether that’s changing the way our website works or altering our assessment centres to allow individuals a greater chance to shine. We do business right where our customers live and work, in the heart of their neighbourhoods. Maybe that’s why we feel so strongly about mirroring the communities we serve. Simply put, we want to nurture a business environment that is responsive and welcoming to all. This is an integral part of who we are as people and as a company.
